Dr. Jonathan Henrichs first joined the Reata family in January of 2017. After two years working as an assistant in the practice, he moved away for four years to attend Washington State University, where he earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine with honors in 2022. Dr. Henrichs is originally from Michigan, where he grew up surrounded by a wide variety of animals from a young age. Before joining Reata, Dr. Henrichs earned his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University in 2011. Afterward, he spent the following five years working as a draft horse farmer, wrangler, and horse trainer on ranches and farms across the United States. During vet school, he took advantage of opportunities to work in the University's emergency equine surgery service, care for working horses and mules in the Andes mountains of Peru, and research the safety of equine pain medications. He enjoys all aspects of equine practice. Dr. Henrichs lives with his wife, Danielle, and their family outside Vail.
