Dr. Ann Pearson joined Reata in August of 2007. She received her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University and holds a Master’s Degree in Animal Science and Nutrition. While at Purdue, she received the prestigious Large Animal Medicine and Surgery Award, which is presented to the student showing the most promise in large animal practice.
Dr. Pearson has been practicing in Nogales since 1999. Before coming to Tucson, she worked in both small and large animal veterinary medicine, including an equine practice in Lexington, Kentucky. She has a special interest in equine acupuncture, equine dentistry, oral surgery, and emergency medicine.
Since Reata’s move into its new hospital facility, Dr. Pearson has expanded her role by splitting her time between equine and small animal medicine. She has played a vital role in developing the small animal side of the practice, making major contributions during its formative stages. Her versatility, compassion, and commitment have helped establish high standards of care for both equine and small animal patients.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Pearson is a devoted mother to three sons, a daughter-in-law, and a beautiful granddaughter. She is also an avid horsewoman who enjoys dressage and is an active member of the Tucson Dressage Society.
